J'ai acheté un emballage des jeux Tomb Raider et Tomb Raider 4 qui était annoncé à 19,99$ - rabais postal de 20$ de Future Shop. Il va sans dire, je n'ai jamais reçu le rabais en question. Je les ai donc appellés, après avoir été transféré quelques fois, j'ai finalement parlé à un homme qui m'a dit que je n'étais pas dans le système et qu'il m'y ajoutait à l'instant, me disant finalement que je devrais recevoir mon rabais dans 3 autres semaines. Cet appel a eu lieu il y a environ 2 mois et je n'ai toujours rien reçu. Pire encore, quand je vais sur www.rebatestatus.com (leur site Web pour vérifier l'état des rabais Future Shop), mon code postal n'est même pas dans leur système! J'ai donc payé 20$ plus taxes pour des logiciels que j'achetais seulement parce qu'ils revenaient gratuits après la remise postale!

J'ai acheté un ordinateur complet et j'ai dû attendre 17 jours avant qu'il soit prêt. Évidemment, en plus de 2 semaines, les prix avaient eu le temps de baisser mais j'ai dû payer le prix signé 17 jours plus tôt. Jusque là ça peut aller (ce serait une échelle de frustration de 1 ou 2). Ce qui suit est bien pire. La seule barette de RAM de l'ordinateur que j'ai attendu si longtemps était partiellement défectueuse. Ça ne sautait pas aux yeux sur le coup, alors ça m'a pris 9 jours pour mettre le doigt sur le bobo. Je retourne au magasin en leur expliquant que les tests sont déjà faits et que je sais que c'est la RAM qui est à changer. Je m'attendais à ce que ça prenne 5 minutes et que je puisse revenir tout de suite avec ma tour, mais non, on me met sur une liste d'attente de "3 à 4 jours"! Cela se passe un mardi midi, et je prends soin de bien mentionner au chinois du service de réparation que j'ai ai besoin pour la fin de semaine alors il me laisse savoir que ça devrait être prêt pour le vendredi. Mais voilà que le vendredi, j'appelle vers 16h pour apprendre que la réparation, qui est séparée du magasin comme tel, ferme à 17h30 et qu'elle est fermée la fin de semaine. Le gars du magasin qui m'a répondu m'a dit qu'il demanderait à ce que ce soit fait avant 17h30, qu'il transférerait ensuite l'ordinateur dans le magasin pour que je puisse aller le récupérer en soirée et qu'il m'appellerait ensuite vers 19h. À 20h15, je suis toujours sans nouvelle, alors je rappelle une fois de plus le magasin, je parle à un gars qui me met en attente pendant plus de 10 minutes pour qu'un autre gars prenne finalement la ligne et après avoir expliqué mon problème pour le Xe fois, ce nouveau gars me dit qu'ils ont été "débordés aujourd'hui" et que c'est sûr qu'ils n'ont pas eu le temps de transférer un ordinateur de la réparation au magasin. "À lundi", m'a-t-il dit... Et même là, je suis sceptique!
En bref, je leur avais dit que j'avais besoin du PC pour la fin de semaine et ce ne fut pas prêt pour la fin de semaine (ce qui leur laissait pourtant 3 jours et demi pour une job de 5 minutes), et en tout et partout la date d'achat remonte à un mois exactement (22 août au 22 septembre) et je n'ai toujours pas le PC fonctionnel sur mon meuble d'ordinateur!!!

J'avais trouvé une offre: un Pentium I 233 MHz tout équipé à bon prix; j'ai découvert après coup que le processeur Pentium qu'on m'avait vendu était en fait un Cyrix, ce qui rendait le rapport qualité/prix beaucoup moins intéressant...

SUITE DE L'HISTOIRE SOUMISE LE 22 SEPTEMBRE. J'avais raison d'être sceptique parce que, croyez-le ou non, mon PC n'était effectivement pas prêt et ne l'a pas été avant le jeudi suivant, 27 septembre! Bien pire encore, la mémoire vive qu'ils ont mis en remplacement était encore plus défectueuse que la première! C'est donc plus le 28 septembre, quand j'ai refait changer ma RAM, que l'histoire s'est conclue. Le seul point qui fasse que l'échelle de frustration ne soit pas monté à 5, c'est que le vendeur Marc-André s'est montré très sympathique et compréhensif; il ne m'a pas chargé le supplément pour le changement à de la mémoire de meilleure marque (normalement 6$ plus cher) et m'a échangé la barette sans délai.
Ajoutons que depuis un peu plus d'une semaine, ma Quickcam a soudainement et sans raison apparente cessé de fonctionner, je ne suis plus capable d'écouter des CDs audio dans Windows (sous Linux ça fonctionne, et oui évidemment, j'ai pensé de vérifier mon volume "CD Audio" de Windows!) et depuis 2 jours mon ventilateur fait un bruit étrange pendant les 15 premières secondes d'un démarrage à froid de l'ordinateur.

Au boxing Day, un scanner était annoncé à 59,99$, mais en arrivant à la caisse, le prix sort à 84,98$... Si on ne regarde pas sa facture et qu'on se laisse faire, ils mettent, sur la facture, une entrée à 59,99$ plus une entrée à 24,99$ pour la garantie prolongée de 3 ans... Surveillez votre facture! Si vous décidez de ne pas prendre la garantie prolongée, vous êtes garantis quand même, mais directement avec le fabricant au lieu de passer par Future Shop...
